Why Skincare Is Important

Skincare is such an important daily habit that we must carry out in order to keep our skin healthy and strong. Not everyone has the soft baby skin that we all wish for, but we can definitely take some steps in order to help our skin. Over time, harsh elements in the environment such as UV rays can damage your skin. That is why it is extremely important to keep your skin hydrated and protected from harsh environments.

You should take care of your skin everyday, to help fight against infection. We need to keep our skin moist and healthy therefore it is important to stay away from harsh soaps and products that can irritate your skin. Skin is typically the first thing people will notice about you - therefore those who struggle with skin problems, it can have an effect on your emotional and mental health.

Instead of covering your face with a range of foundations and concealers, you should start a daily routine that focuses on your skincare as it will help maintain healthy skin and hopefully solve any skin issues you may have. Here are some of our top tips to keep in mind when searching for the perfect skin products…

First of all, you want to consider your skin type - you may have dry skin, oil skin or a combination. Next, you should look at what products make up a healthy skin routine - here are a list of our recommended products.

Cleanser

Typically, cleanser is used to remove makeup, dead skin cells, oil and dirt from your skin - as this helps to unclog pores and help prevent skin conditions such as acne. To cleanse your face, you will want to wash your face gently with lukewarm water. Take the cleanser and massage it around your face in a circular motion and rinse with warm water. Finding the right cleanser may be a process of trial and error - yet it is important to note for oily skin, you should look for an oil-free option and for dry skin, you will want to find a cleanser without alcohol or fragrance.

Toner

After your face has been washed, toner is applied and skin can smooth, soften and calm. Toners often contain ingredients that replenish your skin and restore nutrients, and can reduce redness and dry patches.

Moisturiser

Moisturisers should be used every time you wash your face. And like cleaners, a little trial and error is needed when looking for a moisturiser that suits your skin type. For example, oily skin would benefit from lightweight, oil-free products. Moisturisers can also help your skin from drying out, while leaving your skin hydrated and smooth.

Exfoliation

After cleanser, exfoliation can be used before moisturiser as it helps remove flaky skin by increasing skin cell turnover. You might not need an exfoliator or want to apply it every day. However, if you have dry skin, or even dry skin caused by winter air, you can exfoliate more than normal, but you should keep it to average once or twice a week.

Serum

Another optional addition to your skin care routine, serums contain antioxidant or retinol ingredients that help skin health in a variety of ways, such as calming redness and enhancing texture and firmness.

Several factors can affect the skin and skin that you deserve to be protected as your biggest organ and first line of health protection. You'll want to be mindful of your surroundings and everyday health, such as food, stress and exercise, while contemplating skin care. However, a skin care routine involving cleanser and moisturiser can go a long way.
